{Blazers - 21 Wolves - 7}

Week #3. The Blazers are now 3-0. They made more mistakes this week (kind of like Boise State). Their first turnover of the year and multiple holding and block in the back penalties (one which negated at 75 yard touchdown run) hampered their day. They played probably the worst of their three games and still won fairly easily. The Wolves didn't score until the very last play of the game when all the first team guys were out. They outplayed and outworked the other team though and really showed the heart of this team. Onto next week, where the Olympia Bears await. Keep up the good, hard work Ayden!

{Sequence}

I am back tracking a little here to when Ryan's Dad and stepmom were here over Labor Day. One thing that we like to do with them is play games and one of our favorites is Sequence. The fun part about playing this time was the older kids are old enough to actually "get" the game and were strategizing on how to win! We played in teams because there are only three colors so only three teams. I do believe Meysa and Grandma Faith won the first game and Meysa and I won the second game. Meysa must be good luck! We enjoyed popcorn and good company!! We really did love having Don and Faith over, even if it was only for a few days!! If you have never played sequence you should, it is a lot of fun!!

Even little Wy-man got in on the action. Yes that is his sister's skirt and yes this is going to be blackmail one day all too soon.

{Blazers - 34 T-Birds - 13}

Week 2 brought a tougher opponent for the Blazers. The tough week of practice paid off. We didn't win as easily as last week but we still won convincingly. N0w 2-0. Ayden played much more this week. Probably about 40% of the plays. His big play this week was recovering an onside kick. It pumped up his team and put them in great field position to go in for their second touchdown to go up 14-0. He has made huge strides from last week to this week. He is starting to figure out how to "play football" and not just be on the field. Time to celebrate the win today and then get back at a good week of practice to prepare for next weekends game. Good job today, Ayden.

{Blazers 38 - Hawks 0}

Saturday was Ayden's first football game of the season. It sure has felt Fall like around here and to be honest we all were really excited to get out to watch a football game. The game was in Tenino and we were up against the Hawks. Before we left home Ayden humored me by letting me take a "few" pictures. It seems like the #7 is becoming Ayden's number. The last three years of baseball and now football this year. The game was a lot of fun. 8 minutes quarters make for a quick moving game which is nice when you are trying to entertain three other kids. Well the score really speaks for itself. The blazers, as my Dad would say, stomped a mud hole right in the middle of the Hawks. We of course were glad that we were doing the stomping and not the other way around, but there are some really good players on our team. Ayden is a first year and there are quiet a few returning players. He mainly played on the kick off team but was also in other times and made a solo tackle, which he was pretty proud of, because if you remember he is pretty small compared to some of these other guys. He had a great time and we are having even a greater time watching him play!! GO BLAZERS~~~

{Mt. Rainier}

Labor Day weekend we finally made a trip to Mt. Rainier. We have lived here for three years now and sadly have never been. Ryan's Dad and Step Mom had come over for the holiday weekend and we thought it would be a perfect activity for us to do with them. It was a cool and somewhat overcast day but no rain so we were feeling lucky. Once on the mountain we took a few hikes around Paradise Ranger station. One was through the meadows to look at the beautiful flowers that were still somewhat in bloom and the other one was up to the falls. Sadly once were up right next to the mountain we couldn't see the actual peak because of fog so the one and only place to see the top of the mountain was back down off of it looking back up Kautz Creek. We were kind of bummed about that but glad we even got a glimpse of it. The kids had a great time and so did the adults. I hope to make it back up there before we leave next June, and I am kinda mad that we waited so long to make a visit to the mountain in the first place. It is really awesome to see the beauty of the world created for us to enjoy!! I couldn't decide on pictures so there are a few to look through.

{Back to School}

So that blessed day has come!!! The last few days have been humdingers I tell ya. My kids bored and ready for school and me impatient and ready for school. Not the best mix!! Well we both got our wish today because it was "Back to School" for 3 out of 4 kids. Ayden started 4th Grade (holy cow), Meysa started 1st grade( yeah for all day) and little Miss Lauryn started preschool (a little sad about that one). It was a wonderful day for everyone and I think everyone was a little tired from such a full day at at school. It was eerily quiet in my house this morning and poor little Wyatt didn't know what to do without everyone around. He was really excited to go and pick up Lauryn from school so he could have someone to play with. Oh yeah and I think summer is officially over and not just because school started, the rains have returned in full force!! But I am actually looking forward to fall weather and all the fun fall activities!!

{Dear Toothfairy}

Miss Meysa finally lost her first tooth. This is something we have been anxiously waiting for for a while now. She was bummed when the end of school came and she didn't get to put her name up on the "I Lost a Tooth" chart. She was bummed when people younger than her were losing teeth, right and left it seemed. Well she finally got her day and she was oh so happy about it. She had at the time four teeth all in some stage of wiggle, so she was frantically working on them all. One became more wiggly than the others so I told her to start pushing and pulling as much as she could all day long. It got to the point that the little tooth was hanging on my a thread and so I, armed with a wad of TP in hand popped it out with one little tug!! Meysa didn't know what to do but was excited when I handed her the little tooth. She was grinning from ear to ear and couldn't wait to show her Daddy. Her dear brother then proceeded to ruin the whole Tooth Fairy idea by asking if he could put the money under her pillow, since Mom and Dad were the real tooth fairies. I guess that is our fault, we have been less than stellar about our fairy duties and Ayden has woken up on more than one occasion to find us playing under his pillow!! Even Lauryn I think has learned how the real world of fairies works. Darn it!! But yeah for Meysa for reaching this oh so important milestone!!
