Some people we sent our family to newsletter couldn't open it so we thought we would post it on the blog. Sorry if it is a repeat for some of you!!
Heitmann Family 2008
We hope this letter finds everyone well this year. This past year has been full of many memories. This year we’ll start from the bottom and work up.
Wyatt Andrew (3 mo) is the newest and most likely last addition to the Heitmann clan. He graced us with his presence on Aug 15, 2008 at 0157, weighing in at 7lbs 15 oz and 20.5 inches long. In the last 3 months he has only gotten bigger (almost doubled his birth weight now)!!! He looks a lot like Ayden and is very mild mannered, that is until he thinks he is starving and wasting away to nothing.
Lauryn Colleen (2 ½) continues to solidify her place as the family clown. She is enthralled with Disney Princesses and on most days will inform us that she is Ariel or Belle and not Lauryn. I’m not sure she can get any more feminine if she tried. She loves spending time with mom while the older two are at school. She loves nursery at church and learning about Jesus. She woos all the ladies at church with her personality, not to mention the blonde hair and blue eyes!
Meysa Lynn (5) finally started pre-school this fall and absolutely loves it. She is sad when Friday comes around and her school week is over. She still absolutely loves horses. I don’t know if there is going to be a way to not own a horse in the future. Her love for the gospel is growing and she is the first to tell her older brother, mom or dad when they are straying off course. However, each week she says their lesson in CTR 5 is about choosing the right and being nice. Obviously she is getting the point somewhere.
Ayden Tyler (7) is definitely a little man already. It is amazing to watch him act so old already. If he could live in the year 3000 with all the Star Wars characters he would. Stars Wars and Legos continue to be the interests in his life. Ayden played his first year of organized baseball and did an outstanding job. He is doing very well in second grade and loves to read. He is excited to be able to be baptized in 6 short months!!
Ryan and I are truly just trying to keep up with the kids and life itself. Ryan is busy delivering babies and serving in the church as one of the ward clerks. I am busy keeping the kids happy and healthy and trying to do some things that I likes to do for myself. Life is really good and we are so blessed.

Merry Christmas
Well Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you all had a great time with family. We spent a quiet Christmas at home this year with just our little family and it was wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I like being with extended family, but it is nice every once in a while to be with just you and yours!! We did have a white Christmas this year and it was nice. Here are some pics of the kids with their snowmen!! 
With all the snow we got the kids were actually able to make a few snowmen. They have thoroughly enjoyed playing out in the snow. Unfortunately now it is all ice covered and not that much fun!!
This snowman was more like a frog. The kids had so much fun, and it is nice to have a fenced in yard to let them play to their little hearts content and not have to worry!!
With all the snow we got the kids were actually able to make a few snowmen. They have thoroughly enjoyed playing out in the snow. Unfortunately now it is all ice covered and not that much fun!!

The kids had so much fun, and it is nice to have a fenced in yard to let them play to their little hearts content and not have to worry!!Well our Christmas Eve was a quiet one. Ryan had to work on L&D all day so it was just the kids and I. We had big plans though and they started with making our traditional sugar cookies to leave for Santa. We love these cookies, making and eating them!! I put the frosting on them and then the kids applied the decorations. They had a lot of fun!!
During the afternoon we watched a good movie together. Kit Kitteridge, an America Girl. So cute, a must see!! We played and cleaned up the house to get ready for Santa!! Then we made our homemade pizza for dinner and it was delicious!!!
Pizza 1 of 2. Our family now has to make two pizzas to satisfy everyone, plus to have a little leftover for the next day!! I am just afraid when the kids are older and are actually eating more. How many will we have to make then?!!
The kids got Christmas pajamas that they got to open after dinner. They were so excited to get something new and to actually open something up. We don't put any presents under the tree until after the kids are in bed Christmas Eve night. When they saw the gifts under the tree in the early afternoon they drove me nuts about opening them up. I am now even more firm in my decision to wait until they are asleep to put any presents out!!
Next up was dessert. This is a tradition that I wanted to start and the kids enjoyed it. Chocolate fondue!! Ryan bought us the fondue pot to enjoy this delicious stuff in.
I gave the kids wooden kabob sticks because I thought they were safer than the fondue forks. They had fun dipping and eating. Next year we might actually try the cheese fondue too!!
Poor Wyatt he didn't get any chocolate, his sad face tells you how he feels about that!! He didn't think all those toys were a good substitute for chocolate!!
Christmas morning was a whirlwind of paper flying and screams of delight. We tried to slow the kids down with opening the gifts, but were not too successful. This year we also started a tradition that I had in my family growing up and that was to draw names and make gifts for one another. It was a lot of fun this year and I think the tradition will stay with us.
Lauryn had Daddy and she made him a frame for his office at work. She helped me decopauge it and paint the letters!! Dad loved it!
Ayden had my name and he decided that I needed a center piece for my table for next Christmas. He picked out the wreath, the flowers and did the wooden ornaments all by himself. I guess Dad helped by driving him to Michael's and paying for it. What a creative kid I have!!
Ayden and Meysa got the Wii game MarioKart and they were excited!!
Meysa had Ayden's name and she and I made him his own Jedi cape, complete with belt to hold his lightsaber. Meysa had fun sewing on the machine!! Ayden of course loved it!!
Meysa got a doll that goes with her horse that she got for her Birthday. She was pretty excited!!
Wyatt had Meysa and he (with mom's hlep of course) planned on making her some bracelets that had horse charms on them. The only problem was the stretchy string wouldn't tie and the ribbon was too big to go through the beads, so we are still working on it. But she was excited to see the horse stuff anyways!!
Daddy had Lauryn. He made her a church bag just like the big kids. It has all of her princess doll and Dora stuff in it right now, so she loves it!!
She also got a treasure chest FULL of dress up clothes for which she is very thankful for. She hasn't put a stitch of normal clothes on since!! Thanks Grandma Margaret!

Mom had Wyatt's name and I made him his very own race cars. They are good chew toys for now, but I am sure soon enough he will be racing around the house with them.
That was our Christmas in a nut shell (sorry for the long post). We feel very blessed and are looking forward to next year and all the adventure that comes with it.

Winter Wonderland
Well here is our winter wonderland. The kids have been in heaven with all this snow. We got the last three days of last week off as snow days and we had church cancelled yesterday. So I am feeling a bit of cabin fever. We did make it out Saturday morning before the snow started flying again to get some food, and what a bunch of craziness that was. Walmart was a nightmare and Costco wasn't any better. We did need to clear our drive and dig out the cars yesterday because Ryan thought he was going to go and pick up a friend at the airport, but ended up not having to. As we were finishing up our drive way we looked across the road to one of our neighbors trying to shovel his drive with a pointed metal garden shovel. He was getting no where fast so we trudged over there and in no time had him dug out too. We thought since it was the Sabbath we could at least help another right!! Last night we had some guys on snowmobiles running in the back. That would have been a lot of fun. Ryan made it into work this morning fine and the kids and I are holed up for another "snow day". The kids dug out the Marty Stouffer "Wild America" dvds and are watching them intently. Oh the memories of watching that show as a kid. Ayden asked me if my parents just "pushed play for all the episodes". I told him no, I was a kid when the show was on TV and we didn't have dvds. He gave me the look like are you serious?!!! That made me feel really old!!! And Mr. Wyatt thinks he is old enough to eat steak and potatoes now. We found tooth #1 the other day. Ayden was only four months when he got his first teeth as well. I can see the competition beginning with these boys already. Wyatt beat Ayden in the 4 month weight department by 5 oz. Lots of fun!!!

Snow Day
We had our first Snow Day here in Western Washington. We got maybe 2-2 1/2 inches. In Iowa that was what we called a "dusting". Oh well the kids were excited to not have to go to school. It was 8:15 this morning and they were dressed and ready to hit the backyard. We first had to find the snow tote and see what kind of winter garb we had available. Ayden needs boots, Meysa needs snow pants and Lauryn had everything pink!! Even though Ayden and Meysa were lacking some of the winter wear they still braved the blowing snow. They had a lot of fun for about an hour. I gave them spray bottles with colored water to play with since the snow wasn't the kind to make a snowman. Lauryn came in after about a half hour. Her gloves kept coming off and she was cold.

The kids loved eating the fresh snow!!
Wyatt and I stayed in where it was warm and worked on rolling over. Who knew being four months old was so much work!!!

Gingerbread House
For Family Home Evening on Monday we put together our Gingerbread house. We cheated and bought the Wilton kit, so easy to use and lots of fun. We were waiting for the icing to set a little before we added the candy!!
Lauryn got caught eating the candy as she was putting it on the roof!!
Finished product, it really only took us a half an hour to do this. Which was good, since we got started late, we didn't have a whole lot of time until bedtime.

Christmas Festivities
We have been busy as of late with all the fun Christmas activities one could imagine. I have been shopping and shopping and oh, yes shopping. Now, I am not shopping so much because I really have that much money, but mostly because I can't seem to find everything I want at one store and so I have to patronize many stores. It makes for long days, and I really am not that big a fan of shopping to begin with. So enough of my boring Christmas stuff, the kids have been having all the fun!! A good and brave friend invited a few friends over to decorate sugar cookies after school yesterday. And boy did the kids have a lot of fun.

We really didn't mean to segregate the boys and the girls, they basically did it themselves. They just didn't want to be near each other.
Ayden's decorated cookies. Not bad, but wait till you see Meysa's and her sidekick Marlee's cookies.
I think there was a little green sugar used in the making of those cookies. I don't think we could really tell where the pile of sugar or cookie began. Meysa's was overflowing with frosting. But hey they had fun!!
I bet you can't guess who's cookies were drenched in green sugar can you? Kids are fun!!!
Well today we got to go up to Dad's work and see someone very special, other than their Dad mind you!! The kids had fun stuffing their faces and waiting impatiently for you-know-who to show up. Larry the head clinic nurse dresses up as Santa every year and the kids love it.
Ayden got a watch, which he as been asking for.
Meysa was eager to sit on Santa's lap and loved her little princess doll!!
Lauryn actually sat on Santa's lap this year. Last year she wouldn't even let her bum hit his felt. She also loved her princess doll!!
And let's not forget little Wyatt. He didn't even cry, but maybe that is because he couldn't see who was holding him.

On a side note, I discovered my youngest Daughter is headed for a life of crime. I don't know where I have gone wrong in teaching her what is right and what is wrong, but I have obviously failed. Let me tell you how it went down. Yesterday I had to get some ink for my printer to finish some Christmas presents and we went to Costco but they were out of my kind. So we crossed the parking lot to check Best Buy. They had what I needed and on the way to the check stand I perused the digital cameras, just to torture myself I guess. After drooling over them and realizing that it was no use, no one was going to have pity on me and give me one, I told Lauryn that we needed to leave. We checked out, got home and went on about our day. Well today I got to the base(for the office Christmas party) and was getting out the stroller (the very same one I used in Best Buy) to put Wyatt's car seat in. And what to my astonishment did I find in the basket? My daughter's loot. She swiped a nice battery kit for a nice camera. I about died!!! I couldn't figure out how I hadn't seen her put it under there, and why had the alarms at the store not gone off as I was leaving. Long story short, I had to return the stolen item to the store and the bewildered customer service guy was surprised that I even brought it back. He just said, and I quote "Uh, wow, thanks!" There must not be many people who would return it I guess. So next time you see Lauryn I give you permission to call her "Sticky Fingers"!! Anyways that is what we have been up to lately!! Lots of fun!!!

First Cold!!
Wyatt has had his first real cold this last weekend. He woke up Sunday morning with a stuffy nose, congested chest and we thought he had an ear infection. So off to Madigan we went, no ear infection but still a baby who didn't feel good. He is starting to feel better with a little shot of Tylenol every so often. I was real curious how much he would weigh now that he is almost four months old. His last weight at two months was 13 lbs. 12 oz or so and on Sunday he weighed 17 lbs. 10 oz. No wonder my back is always out after lugging him around. The upside is there is lots of him to nibble on!! (The swing is heaven sent by the way) 05 December 2008
Conner David Finch
I am proud to announce the newest arrival to the Finch family!!! Conner David Finch was born yesterday to my brother Andy and his wife Sariah. They are in California right now because this sweet little boy was born with a heart defect and there are great doctors at Stanford that are taking good care of him. I can't tell you what an impact this little man has had on me long before he took his first breath. Watching my brother and his wife handle this trial with faith and optimism has been such a blessing to me. I consider myself a pretty positive person and one that looks on the bright side of things more often than not. But I tell ya, being a mother I can imagine what Andy and Sariah felt as they learned that their little baby wasn't alright. I would be afraid, angry and sad. But they showed me what it really means to submit their will to Heavenly Father and look for what they can learn in this trial. Their example of faith has been a lesson to me. Even if everything is not ok, it really is ok. The Lord is mindful of us and he will not leave us alone, especially when things get hard. I pray constantly for them and for the doctors that are caring for Conner. I can't wait to hold that little guy and give him sweet kisses. Until then I'll have faith that all will be as the Lord would have it be.
