Miss Twinkle Toes

Miss Meysa started ballet last week. Of course the battery in my camera went out right as I was about take pictures of her real first class. So I had to wait until this week to get some good shots. She is enjoying it and it is really nice to see little girls being calm and graceful!! Which is a change for Meysa, most of the time she is a horse galloping around the house. This is a picture of Meysa's best first position. She looks so adorable out on the dance floor. I also added a video that Ryan took of her in class I let Ryan take her so I could keep Lauryn home, she really isn't quiet enough for ballet class. Ryan didn't know that he was suppose to have her take off her black stretch pants during class until Ayden piped up and said "Dad your suppose to take off Meysa's pants!" You can still see how cute she is though!!

My G.I. Joe!!

Ryan is in San Antonio for a week "playing Army". All the first year interns have to take a course that is called C4(combat causalty care course- I think!). Basically he goes and is trained on how to get the injured off the battle field and into the field hospitals. I think Ryan enjoys getting to go and play with the guns and stuff. The kids asked where he was going, and we told them that he had to go to Texas for some training for work. Later that day Meysa told her friend that her Dad went to Texas to learn how to drive a train. Close but not really!! We miss our Dad when he is gone and we hope that he is enjoying his MRE's and sleeping on the ground. J/K. We love you Ryan!!

Northwest Trek

Nana and Papa treated us to a day at Northwest Trek, which is a natural wildlife park. A majority of the animals are free range. It is good because they are in their natural state and not cagged up, but it doesn't guarantee you will see every animal. We were very lucky to see all the animals except for white tailed deer. The kids had a blast getting to see these huge animals only a few feet from the tram. We took a picnic lunch and made a whole day of the park. Thanks Nana and Papa!!!

Beauty Parlor

BEFORE:
AFTER:
Meysa and I went to the "Beauty Parlor" today to get our hair cut!! I was tired of my mop and Meysa needed a change too. It was fun to go just the two of us. Meysa's favorite part was getting her hair washed, it tickled she said. While my hairdresser had absolutely no personality and was a little rough with my head, I am satisfied with the cut she gave me!! (I know that it looks like we have the same hair cut now, but that wasn't really the intention.!!)

Dear Tooth Fairy-

"Dear Tooth Fairy-
I lost a tooth. I want some money. I will put my tooth under my pillow. Ayden"

This is verbatum what he wrote in a letter to the Tooth fairy.
The day that Ayden has been waiting for has finally come. He lost his first tooth!! It has been wiggiling for the last two weeks or so and he has asked everyday if today is the day. Yesterday he took an apple for lunch to try and work it out but came home disappointed, his tooth was still there. Today he asked for another apple and when I picked him up from school he had a gap in his smile. It fell out while he was eating his apple!!! He was so excited, he now gets to have grown-up teeth cause he's going to be a grown-up (that's what he said). He also thinks the tooth fairy is going to make him rich!!! I don't know what the going rate is these days for teeth, but I think the most I ever got was $.25. Congrats Ayden for being such a big kid!!!

A WILD Night!!

Before I go to bed at night I usually check on the kids to make sure they are in their beds and tucked back in. The other night I went to check on the girls first and this is the state in which I found Lauryn. On top of all her blankets and pillow, pj bottoms half down and her baby doll hung by the crib railing. I wonder what she did to derserve that?!! Just thought I would share how funny my daughter is, Lauryn keeps me laughing all the time!!

1ST GRADE

Today was Ayden's first day of 1st Grade. He was so excited to start a new school year. He woke up this morning probably around 6:30 am and was ready to go. When I told him that school didn't start till 9:20am he replied, "I have to wait till lunch time?" I guess 9 o'clock sounded like a long time to wait. It is funny how quiet the house is with him gone to school!! I can't believe he is this old already!

You scream, I scream, LAURYN screams for ice cream!

We got the kids ice cream for a snack at the Coldwater Lake Observatory. Lauryn knows what ice cream is, she loves it!! She saw me walking holding the "frozen reason for her waking up today" and started screaming in excitement. It didn't take long for her to dive right in. Then she had to show how happy she was. CHEESE!!! (Can you say class clown??!!)

Don't Feed the Bears!!

When we got to Mt St Helens, we were not allowed to bring food into the observatory so we ate some lunch in the car before going in. There were chipmunks there that have obviously been fed before. They came right up to the kids begging for food. We had stray goldfish that had landed on the floor of the van(courtesy of Miss Lauryn) so Ayden and Meysa got to feed them those. Only after when we were leaving the second observatory did we see a sign asking people not to feed the animals (there is actually a $250 fine). OOPS!!!
This chipmunk came back and back and back for more!
Here he is running away with his latest find(bottom left corner).
Meysa and Ayden were both very calm and still as the chipmunk came to get more loot!
OK, that's enough food. Notice how the cheeks are wider than the body!!!

Mt. St. Helens

We took another trip (again after a post call day for Ryan) for labor day. It was amazing to see the power and destruction that happened back in 1980 and how things have changed since. Ayden thought the volcano was really neat. He wanted to hike to the Lava Dome!!!
