Take me out to the ball game.

When we moved out to Washington we made a list of things we wanted to do. Going to a baseball game was one of them. I made a decision early this year, that no matter how busy things got at work I would take a day or afternoon every so often to spend time with the family doing something on that list. I planned three months ago to take Ayden and Meysa to a MLB game. Aimee unfortunately missed out because of the pregnancy (she still has never been to one). The kids were really excited to go. We also invited along Grandma, Grandpa and Great Nana and Papa. I knew Ayden would be glued to the action for the whole game but wasn't sure about Meysa. She actually did pretty well. Here we are walking up to Safeco Field.
One of the reasons we picked the game we did was becuase it was backpack night. Ayden had to stand here with his new backpack watching the end of batting practice.
The kids and myself walking down to the team store to get some shirts. Grandma insisted on getting them some.
Running out to start the game.
Papa Ralph always buys a bag of Hoodys peanuts from a vendor outside the ballpark. Meysa has a great time cracking the shell and eating the peanuts. She is actually much happier than she looks.
The Mariners do a contest each game to see which fan brings the best "rally fries" sign. The winner gets an order of Rally Fries (which are famous garlic fries passed out in the 7th inning).
Grandma and the kids held up the sign faithfully every half inning trying to get noticed and put on the big Jumbotron in centerfield. So far no luck.
In the 7th inning Ayden had to go to the bathroom, so grandma took him and stood outside with him. Papa Greg was also out getting coffee for Grandma. That left Nana, Papa, Meysa and myself to hold up the sign. Wouldn't you know it, we got caught by the cameras and put on the big screen. It must have made it on TV (Fox Sports Northwest) because grandma saw it too on the TV out on the concourse. She was pretty bummed that the one half-inning she misses was the inning they decided to show out sign. Ayden didn't care too much, he still thought it was neat that his sign made it on the TV. We didn't win any fries, but we got on TV!!!
Meysa and grandma having a good time.
Another pic documenting me actually spending time with my kids.

Hey Grandma, give me the finger!!!

Part of going to the game is getting something to remember it by. Grandma wanted to get the kids t-shirts but Ayden saw other kids with the foam fingers and "had to have one." Grandma being the softie got them a finger to wave. Here they are rooting on the Ms
After the game we wanted some pics. So instead of asking his grandma nicely, Ayden pipes up, "hey grandma, give me the finger." It sounded pretty funny and we all had a quick laugh. Then he got reminded on how to ask nicely and talk appropriately to his grandma.

Week One

Well one fast week has gone by. My mom was here this last week and it felt like I was on vacation. I got to sleep in, take naps, not have to make dinner, she cleaned my house, on top of entertaining my older kids. I tell ya it was heaven. She leaves this morning and I have been dreading it. Thank heavens for moms. Wyatt is doing well. His billirubin was high so we were having to go in and have it checked a few times but the last check it was coming down so we are not worrying about it any more. On Wednesday he was almost back up to his birth weight. That tells you how much he likes to eat. He is so mellow, unless he is hungry he just likes to sit and look around. Thank heavens for that. The kids are loving on him, and fighting over him. Poor kid, he gets passed around like a hot potato all day long. Just thought I would post a pic from this morning. Grandma had to get some before she left to go home.

Finally the pics are here!!!!

So here are the long awaited pics so everyone can finally see the baby. We also finally decided on a name for the little guy. We decided to continue with the Y's and name him Wiatt...oops...I mean Wyatt!!!! Aimee and I both thought he looks more like a Wyatt than a Coleman. Now his nickname can be Wyatt Burp!!!!! Enjoy the pics

Wyatt shortly after birth, getting to snuggle with mom.
Dr Weeks, Wyatt, Aimee and Ryan all posing after a nice delivery.
Wyatt in the warmer getting all the measurements, shots and the look over from the nurse.
Aimee and the FOUR kids. To say Ayden, Meysa and Lauryn are excited would be the understatement of the year.
Grandma Faith with the baby. Faith was sure a big help with the kids while Aimee and I were at the hospital. It took such a load off. Big thanks again, Faith.
Papa Don
Grandma Margaret
Nana Ann (Great-Grandma)
Papa Ralph (Great-Grandpa)
Dr Weeks got this bib for the baby at the baby shower. "I love my obstetrician". We had to have a pic with her and her perfect gift. Thanks again for following Aimee.

(no she is not flipping off the camera, her pointer finger is also up helping hold in the binky)
All dressed up, buckled in and ready to go home!!!!. Welcome home Wyatt.

MALE Heitmann is Here!!!

Aimee and I are proud to announce (Aimee is probably more proud and relieved than anyone) the arrival of the newest member to the Heitmann Family....Male Infant Heitmann. That is his official name right now (actually Madigan doesn't put the infan's real name on the computer for security purposes so every baby is Male infant or Female infant - but he really doesn't have a name yet).

Baby arrived early this AM (15 Aug) at 0157. He was 11 days early. Length was 20 1/2 inches and weight was 3600g (7lbs 15oz). That ties him with Ayden as the longest kid and puts him a close second (by an ounce) behind Meysa for weight. Mom and baby are doing very well. He is a very mild mannered baby. I'm sure that will change with 3 other "perfect" examples to learn from.

Pics to come when the camera comes home with mom and baby tomorrow. You can picture a carbon copy of the other three kids (Ayden especially), just with almost no hair at all. The tiny peach fuzz he does have is blonde (???? don't know where I keep getting these blondies) so you can't see it anyway.

He looks like a keeper. Don't have to give him back to the stork!!!

The love of a Sister

Well as many of you know we have been having a hard time coming up with a name for our little guy. We would like to find a name that could be spelled with a Y because all of the other kids have "y's" in their name. Unfortunately we really only agree on the name Coleman and it doesn't have a y in it. If we did put a Y in it, it would look feminine. So we are at a stalemate. The only other name in the running is Wyatt. So periodically we ask the kids which one they like the best, Coleman or Wyatt. The older kids say they like Coleman and Lauryn, well she shows just how much she loves her soon to be born brother. She is adament that his name is Poopy!! Everytime we ask her what his name is or which name she likes better between our two choices and she says it is Poopy!! No one has prompted her or encouraged her at all. I think of the future relationship between Lauryn and her baby brother. It has a 50/50 shot of being wonderful but starting out with her calling him Poopy isn't exactly going down that road. Hopefully when he is born we can reprogram her little mind into calling him by his real name. And yes I know what you are all thinking, "well Poopy does have a Y in it!" But that is not even an option!!!

Baby Shower

Ryan works with a doctor that is expecting her first baby in September and it is custom at work to throw everyone who is having a baby a shower. Since I am due this month they decided to combine Cory and I together (we are both having boys). Our good friends the Millers that live just across the street hosted the party on Saturday and it was a lot of fun!!! Cory and I being nice and pregnant together. I am much bigger than she is, seeing as this is her first and my fourth and the fact that I am much shorter than she is too.
Thank heavens for interns. They gave each of us a gift card for a massage!!! Yeah baby!!!
Ryan and Nate fighting for the pictures!!!
Nate and Heather stayed up way too late making these adorable diaper cakes. I guess I now have diapers for this baby.
Thanks Heather and Nate for hosting and for putting on a great party!!!

Luke Skywalker OR Han Solo?!!

To say that Ayden is obsessed with Star Wars would probably be the understatement of the year. He loves to build his legos into any Star Wars ship, he makes all the sound effects, he wants to watch the movies all day everyday. He even has his sisters playing Star Wars with him too, including Lauryn!! She fully understands who Darth Vader is and what he should sound like. The only perplexing question Ayden has is who is cooler, Luke or Han. Should he only use a light saber or maybe a blaster would be better. Well for one of our lazy afternoons we built an amazing belt that would allow Ayden to be both Luke and Han at the same time. Be prepared to be amazed!!

First we started out with some ordinary cardboard, Velcro and duct tape. After a little snip here and a cut there and....we had ourselves an amazing Star Wars belt!! (see below)

Complete with special intercom and bullet box on the back. Ayden uses the bullet box to hold his bubble gum though. Who needs extra ammo when you are a sharp shooter!!!
This is Ayden's "Luke" side. His light saber skills are top notch!!!
This is Ayden's "Han" side. He hasn't missed his target in I don't know who many attempts!!
It was really fun to make this belt and see his little mind working to create the perfect balance of Jedi and Cargo hauler turned hero. The girls were targets almost immediately and the belt had to be put in time out until Ayden could control his testosterone a little better. The video is just a little snippet of the Master at work!! Who would you be....Luke or Han?
