On the Bandwagon!!

Finally my sister Amber has hopped on the blog wagon and started her own blog. You can check it out at www.whatsonemorekid.blogspot.com

I know it is exciting!!!!

Beautiful Princess

Meet Lauryn, our resident Princess!! Lately she has had this thing for princesses. I know most little girls do. Lauryn has a set of Disney's princesses that she packs around and talks to and teaches things to. Well Lauryn wants to be one of the girls so she needs a beautiful princess dress. I get her up in the morning, get her dressed in her own cute clothes and almost immediately she is downstairs in my closet stripping and getting on one of my shirts aka a "beautiful princess dress". She then finds a pair of my high heels and prances around the house with her princess dolls in toe. If we have to go anywhere during the day I get her dressed in her regular clothes and as soon as we get home she is back into her "dress". She also likes to change her wardrobe a few times a day, so by the end of the day my closet looks like a tornado has hit. She is so funny. She also has her own names for some of these princesses. Ariel from the little mermaid is "Princess Lea", Belle from Beauty and the Beast is "Jingle Belles", and Snow White is "Snow Wipe". What a kid we have!!!!

Blessing Day

Yesterday was Wyatt's blessing. We were fortunate to have family come to be here with our family. I was really worried that his outfit wouldn't fit but it did, but probably wouldn't for much longer. He has put on the chub!!! He wasn't really in the mood to take pictures so he got the binki, but I wanted one without it and this is how it turned out...... Not so happy but definately handsome!!! We sure love this little guy.

Everyone who was there for Wyatt's day. Amber and six of her kids. Aaron and Lana and their four kids. Ryan's mom (who happened to be taking the pictures-sorry Margaret), and Ryan's grandparents Ralph and Ann. We have the best family!!! My Mom and Dad were home sick and weren't able to come and I believe Ryan's Dad and Step mom were on their way to Oregon for a vacation. We missed you guys!!
This is a picture I know I will come to treasure. All of the kids with one set of their wonderful Great-grandparents. My kids love Nana and Papa!!!
We are grateful families are forever!!!

Ocean Shores

We had family come over from Idaho this last weekend for Wyatt's blessing, and we decided to show them what Western Washington has to offer on a beautiful September day. We took all the youngins' and went to the coast. It was a perfect day, sunshine (rare this time of year), low 70's and a slight breeze. The kids loved it. Here they all are tallest to shortest!! If you will notice they almost blend into the sand because they are covered in half a beach worth of sand. We had to strip them all down to their skibbies before they could get into the cars, it was that bad.
This was their other favorite thing to do, Chase the Waves!!! We kept telling them to only go in as far as their ankles, but that lasted about 5 seconds. Who can resist the waves? Us older people who thought the water was entirely tooooo cold!! So they got really wet and then they....
Flew some kites. There wasn't enough wind to really keep the kites up. You had to start at the top of the beach and run toward the water, if you turned then the kites would fall. But they had a good time trying. This is Andrew (Amber's) flying it all by himself.
And here is where we collected lots and lots of sand. Lots of wet sand!!! I had to clean my washing machine after I washed the clothes twice. I also had to vacuum out my dryer because of all the sand collected.
What a perfect day to spend a Saturday!!!

Had to Post

So last night I was sitting on the couch talking to Meysa about how she likes preschool and her two teachers.

Mom: Do you like Miss Laura?
Meysa: Yes, she is nice!
Mom: How do you like Miss Jane?
Meysa: She is old...has bumps on her face...a flat nose.... and grey hair!"

I tried so hard not to just bust up. She was dead serious and didn't even miss a beat when she was describing Miss Jane's flawed features. The funny part is Miss Jane, may be in her mid 50's and I think the bumps Meysa was referring to were Miss Jane's freckles. As for her flat nose, I don't know where she got that.

Kids are hilarious and honest!!

One Month

I am always amazed at how differently a month passes...the month right before you have a baby and the month right after. They run on different clocks. The month before feels like two minutes for every one real minute and the month after is 30 seconds for every one minute. Little Wyatt is a month old already(really 5 weeks as I write this) and he has changed so much. He has added some rolls, namely on his neck, legs and arms. He has lost some hair, which is the opposite of what needs to happen. He has survived some close calls with his siblings (Meysa took him UP the stairs to find me and Ayden nearly took an arm off getting him out of the swing.) The older kids don't understand why I freak out when they waltz around the house with him. If he even whimpers or snorts they are on him like flies on poop. I don't know how many times I say in a day "LEAVE HIM ALONE" or WOULD YOU STOP KISSING HIS FACE, HE CAN'T BREATH." He eats every three hours on the dot and doesn't give you much fudge room on that one. When he tells you he is hungry that means NOW, not in 5 minutes. He loves to snuggle and to be wrapped up tight in his blankets. He is basically just the cutest kid there is!!! Month two is probably going to go just as fast, I am soaking up every minute of it. Hello closeup, Mom!!!
He is getting so big!! He can already wear some 3-6 month clothes!!
Ok, enough with the pictures woman!!! Until next month!!!

Stripes

Well I finally finished the painting in the boys' room. I had the light blue painted in April before we moved in but the stripes had to wait. We just didn't have time before we had to move to get it done. Well Ryan had a week of leave a week ago and so we finally got around to it. Ryan was meticulous about the lines and was doubtful that they would end up being straight but they did thanks to him. We are getting the boys a set of bunk beds, so the room isn't quite finished. Seeing how cute their room looks, makes the girls' room kind of bare. I even went to look at colors to maybe do one wall in the girls room. We shall see. I am working on making the girls quilts for their beds. We just got them a set of white bunk beds because Lauryn was still sleeping with her mattress' on the floor. They ended up being so nice we are getting the boys' from the same place. Slowly but surely my house is looking like it is inhabited.

FINALLY!!

FINALLY....that is what Meysa said yesterday when she FINALLY got to go to preschool. This little girl has been ready to go for at least a year now and when Ayden started school a few weeks ago, she was all rip roaring ready to go as well. So imagine having to wait a little longer. Almost not possible. I asked her how her day was and she said good, they had snacks, got to play outside and she learned about savages!! I am not sure now about the curriculum, but maybe she got it confused with something else. Anyways she is ready to go again today and everyday from now on. I can't believe that my little girl is already going to school!! Lauryn, Wyatt and I had a quiet afternoon running errands, I did enjoy that!!!

Big 2nd Grader

Well Ayden started 2nd Grade on Wednesday. He was excited even though he woke up with a headache. His teacher is Mrs. Montgomery, he got lucky that is who he wanted. It is hard to believe that he is in 2nd grade. Some days it seems he was just going to preschool and was only 4 years old.
He wanted me to take a picture of him like this too. I haven't figured out why. It could be because of two reasons. 1- he saw me do this plenty in the last nine months while taking pictures of my belly. Or 2- he is expecting to need a mug shot sometime this year so he thought he would get it out of the way early. Funny kid! Yeah for school to start again!!!

Wyatt and Tivian

Well the cousins got to meet for the first time this last weekend. Wyatt and Tivi are only two weeks apart in age and I hope they will be good friends too. We took like 20 pics of Airica and I with the babes, but I had to post this one mainly because Tivi has the cutest look on her face. I love when babies go cross-eyed. Notice the difference between the two. Tivi got all the hair for both of them. Wyatt has some hair on his head it is just about 1mm long. It will come in sooner or later.
This was Tivi just after she ate. Note the look of complete satisfaction on her face!! She is so dang cute!!
Little Wyatt-he makes some of the funniest faces!!
Trying to get a picture of just them. They were either looking away from each other or they were sliding down the couch or falling over. Not very cooperative, but cute nonetheless!!

Fun at Papa's House

We were at Papa Chip's house this last weekend and boy did we have fun!! With all the cousins in town for Mahaley's wedding there was no shortage of activity around the Place. Saturday was one such day. After the wedding we came back to Grandma's to change and get ready to go play at the park. We also needed to have a funeral for one of Aaron's beloved cows. See she took an awful tumble down Papa's hill and well it didn't end well for her. Of course everyone wanted to be in attendance and so off we went to bury poor Bessie.

First we had to load up in the tractor cause that is what we do at Papa's house. We always get a ride in the tractor. This was a first for Lauryn I think and she loved it. She had a smile on her face the whole time.
We had to do some impromtu pruning along the way. The tractor couldn't get back to where Bessie was with the tree as big as it was so Papa took a little off the side.
Finally we made our way through and just around the bend was the final resting place of poor old Bessie.

If you will notice Bessie is already getting nice and bloated and a little stinky. The kids didn't mind too much until we moved her and then you didn't want to be down wind from her at all.
Then the digging began. Thank heavens we had a tractor to do all the work, can you imagine having to dig that grave by hand. The kids were fascinated by the hole and would get awfully close to falling in every once in a while. Lauryn even liked playing in it before Bessie occupied it.
The kids look awfully sad about losing Bessie don't they?
Watching Papa do all the work digging the grave!!! We are making sure he is doing his job right!!
Talk about cheap entertainment!! Unfortunately my cameras battery died just about now and so I don't have any pictures of the actual move and burial but we all had a moments silence for the good ole cow. She will be missed dearly, especially by Aaron.
Oh the fun we have at Papa's house!!!

I know I am Crazy!!

My niece Mahaley got married this last Saturday in Lewiston and originally I wasn't planning on going since I just had a baby two weeks ago. They are planning on having a reception in October and that was when I was planning to go over and make my appearance. Well Friday morning I was sitting nursing Wyatt and the thought popped in my head, why not go over for the wedding. I felt good, the kids were bored and Ryan was going to be at the hospital seriously the whole weekend. Well I thought about it and ho hummed around all day until at about 3 PM when Ryan called to see how we were doing and I happened to mention my wild thought. Surprisingly Ryan said GO!! So in 45 minutes I packed 4 kids and myself and was on the road (with a quick stop at McDonalds for dinner). I called my parents to give them the heads up and for them to keep it a secret. My Dad told me I was crazy, which at this point I already knew. Who takes 4 kids, one who happens to be only two weeks old and drives 6 hours at night? Well I guess that would be me!! Wyatt did really well, I only had to stop once to nurse him and thank heavens for movies to keep the other kids entertained!! The best part (besides getting there safely) was the look on my older sister and Mahaley's face when I showed up at the church!! I love suprises!
