Blazes it's HOT

A little over a week ago now we had some pretty HOT weather for our little part of the world. In fact we were setting records it was soooo HOT. We had several days of high 90's and one really hot day at 103. I know, I have family and friends that live in Arizona who are thinking, "that is our normal", but for us soft folks in Western Washington it was too HOT. Especially because people around these part for the most part don't have a/c in their homes. We are one of those people so our house was a tad warm on those days. On the hottest day our house was reading 90 degrees at 10:00 at night!! So what did we do on these wonderfully hot days? Well I'll show you..... We ran our fans constantly.

We poured cold water on ourselves in an effort to keep cool!!
We filled up the empty sandbox with water and stuck our feet in.

We hooked up the beach ball sprinkler and played in it all day!!

We struck a pose at a moments notice, just because we could!

Stayed in the shade when it happened to appear!!

We played some pretty COOL games of Spiderman!!

Played in the sprinkler some more, it was where it was coolest!!
We survived it, though there was times we thought we were going to really melt. It was touch and go there for a while. We are thankful for the grass that is growing in our backyard this year. If this had happened last year we really would have been sunk, we had nothing but rocks and sticks last year. Not much fun to play in.

Finally Lauryn wanted to tell the heat what she really thought of it. I think the heat got the idea that it wasn't welcome and promptly left. We are currently enjoying mid-70's and thoroughly enjoying it!!

Uugh. That sounds terrible. I can't wait to move to Florida where it will be 100 degrees with 95% humidity.

Did you take these pics with your new camera? They look awesome!!

Growing up in TX summers, heat was like breathing air: my fam always had 2 AC units in our house - just in case one went down ;). But it's been so long now that I've lived through a hot summer - it's been a cool 70-80's here the entire summer I'm beginning to get nervous for wanting to move back to TX - no 4 seasons and hot hot hot....not good;)

Glad y'all had a fun way to stay cool!!
